Mutations & Fusion Guide
Mutations are how the endgame economy works in Plants vs Brainrots. You combine specific plants with specific brainrots to produce a fused brainrot that earns far more passive cash than either input.
The big fusion: Los Mr. Carrotitos
Mr. Carrot (Mythical plant) + Los Tralaleritos (Mythical brainrot) → Los Mr. Carrotitos, which generates $31,000/sec — the highest passive income in the game.
This is the endgame target. The whole rebirth + biome grind is, in practice, a long road to standing both ingredients in your inventory simultaneously.
Mid-tier fusions worth chasing
- Tomatrio + Tomatini — fast-track to a stable $4K/sec source. Lock this in before the Frozen biome.
- Cactus + Cactunno — niche but the damage profile bridges Garden → Forest cleanly.
- Watermelon + Watermelonini — Tank fusion. Underrated; gives you a defensive economy unit.
Fusions to skip
Common + Common fusions usually produce another Common with marginally better stats. Not worth the slot cost unless you're truly stuck. The good fusions all involve at least one Rare or higher input.
How to plan fusions
- Check the brainrot index for fusion targets and their input requirements.
- Stop selling the input plants. The temptation is high; resist.
- Run shop refreshes specifically during 2x Lucky Potion windows to hit your fusion ingredient.
- Fuse only when both inputs are in inventory simultaneously — there's no "queue" system; you need both at once.
Mutation rarity ceiling
The "Secret" tier mutations (Los Mr. Carrotitos and a couple others) are intentionally rare-to-impossible without specific gamepass advantages. If you're not a daily player, accept that your ceiling is mid-Mythical fusions, and that's still where most of the economy comes from anyway.
